2019 Korean-American Youth Foundation is hosting the Solomon Insurance sponsored Speech Competition. Please see below for the detailed guidance and information. It is a great opportunity for you to show your public speaking skills and earn cash prize. Research, write, and present a 3-minute speech.

Affirmative action serves to level the playing field for promising students who can succeed even though the odds are stacked against them. Supporters claim that it is one of the most effective tools for redressing the injustices caused by our nation’s historic discrimination against people of color and women, who have fought for it in the face of centuries of discrimination.

However, for many critics, the heart of the case against is made by Chief Justice John Roberts: “The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race.” In fact, recent studies show most Americans (73%) say colleges and universities should not consider race or ethnicity when making decisions about student admissions.”
