Our story

In 2015, Marc Brackett a researcher at Yale University and the director of the Yale Center of Emotional Intelligence led a survey that asked 22,000 high school students  how they feel during the school day. The three words that came back the most were bored, tired, and stressed.

This story is familiar amongst Korean American youth. A student sits at their desk, ready and willing to learn, but the skills that are needed to succeed rarely relate with what’s needed once they graduate.

Starting with our partnership with Project Wayfinder who created tools to help students navigate their learning journey and future path, we are working to redesign our youth leadership program.

“Purpose is a stable and generalized intention to accomplish something that is at the same time meaningful to the self and consequential for the world beyond the self.”
— Dr. Bill Damon, "The Path to Purpose"
